Your First Teen Patti Game — Complete Walkthrough
Phase 1: The Boot (Before Cards)
Every player places the Boot amount into the central pot. Boot is the minimum entry fee for each round — agreed before the game starts. If 5 players each pay 10 chips Boot, the pot starts at 50 chips before anyone bets.
Important: Boot is mandatory and non-refundable. Even if you fold immediately after, your Boot stays in the pot.
Phase 2: Receiving Your Cards
The dealer gives each player exactly 3 cards face-down, one at a time, going clockwise. Do NOT look at your cards yet if you want to try Blind play.
Phase 3: The Big Decision — Blind or Seen?
This is Teen Patti's most unique and strategic moment. Choose one:
Blind (Andhaa): Don't look at your cards. Bet at HALF rate. Creates mystery for opponents. You can look at any time to become Seen.
Seen (Pakka): Look at your 3 cards. Bet at FULL rate. Know your hand strength. Can use Sideshow tool.
Beginner recommendation: Play Blind for your first 2-3 rounds. You save chips while learning the game flow.
Phase 4: Betting Rounds
Starting from the player left of the dealer, each player chooses on their turn:
Call (Chalo): Match the current bet — stay in the game
Raise: Increase the bet — everyone must now match your higher amount
Fold (Pack): Give up your cards — exit this round, chips stay in pot
This continues clockwise until only one or two players remain.
Phase 5: Sideshow (Optional — Skip for First Game)
If both you and the previous player are Seen, you can request a private card comparison. Weaker hand folds. Previous player can refuse. Skip this in your first few games.
Phase 6: Showdown — Who Wins?
When only 2 players remain, either can pay to compare cards. Best hand wins all the chips in the pot. If hands are equal, the player who did NOT demand the comparison wins.
